Software- QS Day Celebrates Successful Anniversary!

Möhrendorf, Germany, 22nd November 2012 - “Testing in a Mobile World” was the subject of this year’s Software QS Day, the twentieth to have taken place so far.

This year it was Heinz Zallmann, the Head of Customer Marketing at Alcatel-Lucent for the region EMEA, who opened the two-day conference with his keynote speech, giving the perspective of a network operator on future innovations in the mobile market.
After that, various different insights into the impact of mobile technologies on the software industry were provided by Dominik Neubauer from TÜV TRUST IT GmbH, Bob Binder, CEO of mVerify Corp. Chicago and President of System Verification Associates, Christiane Heumann, ckc group, Fabian Zimmermann from the Fraunhofer IESE, Prof. Shaomin Zhu from Tongji University and Jessica Schiffmann / Martin Meletzki from Prism Informatics.
Thomas Roßner, CTO of imbus AG, led a practical workshop to show how iOS apps can be tested systematically and automatically.

To close this event, the final keynote speaker, Prof. Gunter Dueck, gave a lively performance, using his subtle sense of humour to give food for thought regarding the true sense and nonsense of mobile developments.

The overall success of this conference was, just like every year, about more than just a series of speeches and presentations. The evening event, held this year in the Museum for Industrial Culture in Nuremberg, also made its mark.

imbus Sales Director Rolf Glunz commented on the event: “I’m delighted that we have once again been successful in managing to comprehensively illustrate a particular subject. Mobile applications will be playing a bigger and bigger role in the software landscape in the near future. That means that we, as software quality assurers, have to face up to a challenge, as the new technologies and concepts also have to function with certainty and reliability.”

The speeches and presentations are available as a download for anyone who is interested at www.qs-tag.de/downloadcenter/.
